In 2014, after 34 years in the insurance business, I pursued my passion for painting.

 

While I was working, I used acrylic paint as a medium, but decided to try something new once I retired.  

 

I was drawn to pastels when I saw a box of the brightly colored sticks in an art supply  store.  I knew nothing about them so I took a pastel painting class at the Worcester Art Museum.

 

Some of the paintings on this site are my earliest pastel paintings when I used less expensive pastels and paper.  The quality of the materials really makes a difference as to the result and ease of actually painting the picture.  Since then, I have upgraded my supplies to improve my artwork.
